Sojitz General Merchandise Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation's General Commodities & Lifestyle Dept. of the Retail & Lifestyle Business Division. It uses the broad overseas networks of a general trading company to provide a wide variety of consumer products that meet the needs of customers in Japan's markets.

One of the Company's key characteristics is the integration of all functions from production, planning and development to production outsourcing, imports, sales, advertising and publicity, and sales promotions. By providing these functions through our one-stop service, we can propose and supply a wide range of products in different genres and develop those products along with our customers-this is the type of business that we aim to create.

Brand and Consumer Products Marketing Business

One of the pillars of the company is the brand and consumer products marketing business. We sell leading brand products from around the world using our domestic dealer network. Not only do we import products from overseas brand makers, we also use trademarks we own to plan, develop, outsource production of and market products that meet the needs of customers in Japan. In addition to sales through our dealer network, we also plan and manufacture limited-edition products on an OEM basis in response to requests from customers.

We undertake business using this format in the footwear/apparel/ bag and travel goods segments.

[Footwear / Apparel / Bag Segment]

We handle shoes and bags from the traditional Admiral brand originally known for producing uniforms for the British Navy.

Uniform Business

We also launched a uniform business as a new main business segment in April 2010. In the future, we plan to expand into the general office, service, medical, and nursing fields.

Home Fashion Business

This business was transferred from Sojitz Corporation in June 2011. We make a wide range of proposals such as the development of distinguishing materials and the creation of supply chains based on integrated production from raw materials procured primarily from overseas to final products with a focus on bedding and other household products.
